Raise your hand if you know what song that comes from. And pat yourself on the back if you are a little embarrassed to admit you used to JAM to it (I didn’t yes I did). Thank you Vanilla Ice, you paragon of musical genius, you. I’m writing today to let you know I am changing the focus of my blog! I am eternally grateful to everyone who has been following my travails travels across the US in my RV, and I have always felt bad that I haven’t lived up to your expectations of how often I would write. Some thought I’d write every day (um… no), some thought I’d write every week, some hoped I’d write every month, and then I managed in reality to write once every blue moon.
While I can consistently argue that it takes a reaaaaaaaally long time to write an engaging blog story (which it does), the truth is, while I have been to many places on my journey, there isn’t constantly a hilarious tale to tell about what happened while I was there. At least, there wasn’t for me. It was always interesting, but not always full of entertainment. Sometimes it was serene, sometime annoying, sometimes – yes, even this – boring. And you deserve regularly compelling reading.
And what’s more, is that I am not living in an RV anymore. I have temporarily settled in the southwest, and while I will be moving on again this time next year back to the east coast, for the winter, I will be holing up in the mountains of northern Arizona. And while I do still pull out the RV every so often (and indeed, I view it every day in the backyard, a constant reminder of my recent life), it is no longer a full-time endeavor. I know, I know, your hearts are breaking. But not all is lost!
What I have come to know from emails and comments is that everyone wants to know how I manage to do the things I do. Whether it’s to travel across the country in an RV, putz around the world as a single female, contrive to earn a decent living wherever I am, or simply have fun doing the stupidest things, I have always managed to create what I really want in life. Regardless of the focus of the story, the common theme is “Jeez Heather, how did you DO that?? And how can I do that too??”
So that’s what I am going to give you. Trust me, there will still be plenty of tales of travel and roaming adventures, but they will be cloaked in the theme of how I created whatever experience I dreamed up to have. And thus, the stories will not be limited to RV camping only. This should come as good news! Now I can expand my anecdotes to include all the crazy things that go on in my life, and it is my hope that you will find them all equally entertaining. I can at least commit that I will be writing more often, as I will have much more to write about. 😉
To that end, I have already started a new post. But I wanted to get this out to you now so you will be aware of the changes ahead. Thank you for hanging in there with me!
